This Privacy Policy explains what information Homlii collects, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It applies to the Homlii mobile apps, the Homlii website and the web pages helpers use to see what a home shared with them.
Homlii is a shared home assistant: you say, snap or type what needs attention at home, AI helps organize it, and the people in your home (and any helpers you choose) can pick it up, reply and get it done. Most of the information we handle is what you and your family choose to put into Homlii, and it often includes details about family life. We treat it with that in mind.
1. Information we collect
Account information
- Your name, email address, preferred language and, if you set one, your profile photo.
- Your password, which we store only as a one-way hash. We never see or store it in readable form.
- If you sign in with Apple or Google, the account identifier that provider gives us and the email address it shares. With Apple's “Hide My Email” option, we receive a relay address instead of your real one.
- Confirmation that you verified your email address.
What you capture and share
- Photos, videos, voice recordings and files you add to things or replies.
- Text you write or say: titles, notes, replies and reminder notes.
- Transcripts of your voice notes.
- Details about a thing, such as who is handling it, when it needs doing, the room you type or pick (Homlii does not collect your device's GPS location), its collection, and whether it is open or done.
- Reminders: when they are due, who they are for and their note.
Your home and the people in it
- The homes you create or join, your role in each (owner, organizer or member) and the invitations you send or receive.
- What each person at home looks after, if your home describes it, and the notes your home gives Homlii's AI (“What Homlii should know”), such as who handles what.
- Helpers your home adds (for example a plumber or a babysitter): their name, company or role and email address, the things shared with them, and whether they may reply or add photos.
- A history of activity on each thing, such as who added, changed, shared, finished or reopened it, so the thread keeps its context.
Purchases
Plus and Family plans are bought through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handles the payment; we receive the purchase details we need to give you the plan (the product, its status, renewal and expiry dates and a transaction identifier). We never receive your card details.
Device information
- If you allow notifications, a push notification token for your device plus its model, operating system and app version. We do not store the name you gave your device.
- The app asks for camera, microphone and photo library access only so you can capture or attach photos, videos and voice notes. You can change these permissions in your device settings at any time.
Website and technical information
- When a helper or member signs in on the website, we use a session cookie to keep them signed in and a security token to protect forms. These cookies are necessary for the service to work.
- Our servers process standard request information such as IP address, browser type and request times to deliver the service, keep it secure and diagnose problems.
- We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use third-party analytics or tracking tools on the Homlii website or apps.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide and improve Homlii, specifically to:
- Create and secure your account and let you sign in with email, Apple or Google.
- Store what your home captures and show it to the people who are allowed to see it.
- Run the AI features your home uses (described below).
- Send the reminders you set, and notify people when something is handed to them, when someone replies to a thing they're part of, or when something is due.
- Share single things with helpers and let them reply and add photos on the website, if your home allows it.
- Give you the plan you bought and apply its limits.
- Send service emails: verification codes, invitations to a home, helper activation links, password resets and share notifications.
- Prevent abuse, investigate problems and keep the service secure.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content for advertising.
3. How AI processes your content
Homlii's AI features work by sending the relevant content to third-party AI model providers and returning the result to you. Depending on what you use, this includes:
- Organizing what you capture into a thing with a title, who could handle it, when, a reminder, the room and a collection, from your notes, voice transcript, photos and a few still frames from your videos. This includes reading dates shown in a photo, such as a deadline on a school letter.
- Transcribing your voice recordings into text.
- Suggesting next steps: when something happens and about once a day, Homlii looks over your home's open things and may suggest a reminder, a day, who could take something on, which helper to ask, or that something looks done. To do this it uses the things themselves, their recent replies, the names of the people at home, what they look after and the notes your home gave it.
Only the content needed for the task is sent, and it is sent at the moment the task runs. We do not train our own AI models on your content.
AI output can be wrong. AI never changes anything on its own: you review what it organized before saving, and a suggestion only takes effect when someone at home accepts it. Your home's owner or organizers can turn suggestions off in the app.
5. Your home's information and who controls it
What is captured in a home belongs to that home and is shared with everyone in it. The home's owner decides who joins and what role they have. If you leave a home or are removed, what you added stays with the home.
If you are a helper, the home that shared a thing with you controls it. Questions about it should go to that home first.
6. How long we keep information
We keep account information for as long as your account exists, and a home's things, photos and replies for as long as the home exists. Finished things stay in the home's memory (Moments). If you want something removed from a home, ask its owner or contact us at [email protected].
- Verification codes, password reset links (valid for one hour) and helper activation links (valid for seven days) are single use and stop working once used or expired.
- Reminders are kept with their thing, and are cancelled when the thing is finished.
- When a home removes a helper, their access ends but their name is kept so past threads still make sense.
- Download links for photos and files are temporary and generated on request.
- Push tokens are removed when you sign out of the app or another account signs in on the same device.
You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account), or ask us to. We then delete or anonymize your personal information unless we must keep it for legal, security or fraud-prevention reasons. What you added to a home that other people still use may remain in that home, attributed to a deleted user. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through Apple or Google; cancel it in your store account settings.
7. Security
We protect your information with measures that include encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, hashed single-use tokens for invitations, activations and password resets, signed time-limited links for files, and strict separation between homes so that one home's information is not visible in another.
No system is perfectly secure. Please use a strong password, keep your devices secure and tell us right away if you think your account has been compromised.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent.
- Profile: you can update your name, language and profile photo in the app, and change your password in the app or on the website.
- Notifications: you can choose which notifications you get in the app, or turn them off in your device settings.
- AI suggestions: your home's owner or organizers can turn them off in the app.
- Device permissions: you can withdraw camera, microphone and photo access in your device settings.
- Access, export and deletion: email us at [email protected] and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity first.
- A home you don't run: for what's in a home you don't own, contact that home's owner.
You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Children
Homlii accounts are for people aged 16 or older. We do not knowingly let children under 16 create accounts or collect their personal information from them directly. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Families often capture things about their children, such as a school letter or a photo from a trip. Please share only what you are comfortable with everyone in your home (and any helper you share with) seeing, and respect the privacy of the people in your photos and recordings.
10. International transfers
Homlii and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one you live in. When we transfer personal information internationally, we use appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Homlii changes. We will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
12. Contact us
If you have questions about this policy or how we handle your information, email us at [email protected].
